U GROW GIRL! Circle of Thought celebrates its 3rd Annual Tea; ‘E Pluribus Unum’ – out of many one.  Six autonomous groups come together once a year to celebrate their growth individually and collectively.  Tea Thyme 2010 attracted women from all over the southland including Los Angeles, Inglewood, Long Beach, Compton, and Cerritos.

No Tea would be complete without women, hats, gloves, china, and tea.  The leaders of U GROW GIRL! pulled out all the stops to create a beautiful setting for the afternoon of tea that was held at Fairview Heights Baptist Church in Inglewood, CA.  Sunflowers were in abundance along with a bountiful buffet of petite sandwiches, finger foods, and a decadent array of sweets.  For the hardcore sweet lover, there was a colorful candy station from which each woman made her own bag of sweet delights.

The keynote speaker for the afternoon was Leading Lady Haili Francis whose group is based in Los Angeles.  Original poetry was read by Lamentria Shepherd, a UGG! member.  Liturgical dance was performed by Chantel Davis of Los Angeles.  Ms. Rosie of Flood Gate of Faith Outreach addressed the group and shared the great need for resources to assist women and children living in shelters.  U GROW GIRL! had the privilege of donating gently worn clothing to benefit this great work in Compton, CA.  The Tea provides the opportunity for women to give and to gain.

U GROW GIRL! is on the g-r-o-w and announced its first group established outside of California!  During the Tea, the women welcomed and gave thanks for the newest U GROW GIRL! Circle of Thought located in Petal, Mississippi under the leadership of Leading Lady Terri Moore.  Local Leading Ladies include Nikki Ace, Joyce Carroll, Marenda Hughes-Taylor, Juanita Macias, Haili Francis, and Kamilah Jackson.  Each leader supports, encourages, and provides resources for the women in her group to grow with the goal of using their gifts to the glory of God and to bless others.  Group members range in age from the early 20’s to 80+.     It’s never too late to grow!

Cynthia Ace is the founder of U GROW GIRL! Circle of Thought which was established in 2006.  The mission of U GROW GIRL! is to create safe spaces where women can expand their thinking, unleash their greatness, and live with purpose, all from a biblical perspective.  To learn more about U GROW GIRL!  Circle of Thought visit them at www.ugrowgirl.com or on Facebook.
